 ng>: This talk explores two contrasting approaches to experimental researc
 h in the improvement of existing and the discovery of advanced electrocata
 lytic materials. The first is the traditional\, in-depth methodology that
 leverages advanced in-situ and operando characterization techniques to unc
 over the mechanisms governing catalyst activity\, stability\, and selectiv
 ity. The second approach embraces high-throughput screening platforms\, of
 ten guided by AI\, to rapidly identify promising catalysts and optimal ope
 rational conditions. The talk concludes by discussing how these two paradi
 gms can be combined to accelerate materials discovery and facilitate their
  integration into real-world systems.</p>\n<p style="text-align: justify\;
 "><strong>Short Bio:</strong>Dr. Serhiy Cherevko leads the Electrochemical
  Energy Conversion group at the Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg for
  Renewable Energy (HI ERN)\, Germany. Prior to joining HI ERN in 2016\, he
  worked as a postdoctoral scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Iron R
 esearch (MPIE)\, Germany. He earned his Ph.D. in Nanoscience from Sungkyun
 kwan University (SKKU)\, Republic of Korea\, in 2009\, and his M.Sc. in Ph
