- Description
- Sites of a quasicrystal lattice, with twelve-fold rotation symmetry.
It reproduces the quasicrystal pattern formed by twisted bilayer
graphene at 30 degrees.
A twelve fold rotation symmetric crystal does not exist in the strict
sense, so the patterns that appear do not repeat exactly over the
lattice. However, a quasiperiodicity is evident upon close inspection.
The sample simulated is shaped as a disk, with artificial coloring.
The striking shape against a black background resembles a full moon.
