- Description
- Coral reef or ferroelectric material?
Here you can see topography image of free-standing Strontium ruthenate (SRO)/ Barium titanate (BTO) ferroelectric membrane grown by Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD). Both materials were grown consecutively on strontium titanate (STO) single crystal covered with a thin layer of water soluble polymer, which serves as a sacrificial layer. Once polymer was dissolved in water, free-standing membrane was released from the substrate. Topography of this membrane is heavily wrinkled due to the existing strain.
