- Inspired by pop art and its vivid colors, this image shows gold nanocages tilted under the microscope. Each cage, of approximately 35nm has been constructed by means of galvanic replacement reaction using silver nanocubes as sacrifical template. Similarly to the beautiful actress, under this playful, charismatic and colorful appearance lies a deeper character full of clever ambition: to use these nanoscaled encloses for drug delivery, sensors and removal of pollutants.
