Method for the preparation of metal organic frameworks (MOFs)

High Commercial potential

MOFs are compounds consisting of metal ions or clusters coordinated to organic ligands. A lot of industries sectors are developing MOFs applications as its high rate surface/mass make them interesting in many technical fields such as gas sorption and storage, catalysis, drug delivery, heat exchange and gas separation.

Our researchers had previously developed an alternative spray drying process which allows for rapid, large-scale production of MOFs. The new invention ads previous activating steps in continuous flow, increasing production ease and yield.
