ICN to coordinate new FP7 project NANO-TEC

Initiative led by ICN’s Prof. Dr. Clivia Sotomayor Torres has just been awarded €720,000 in funding.

NANO-TEC, a project proposal directed by ICN Group Leader, and UAB and ICREA Professor, Prof. Dr. Clivia Sotomayor Torres, has received €720,000 in funding from the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). This new coordinated initiative on nanoelectronics design and technology aims to build a community of academic researchers in nanoelectronics to explore beyond-CMOS devices from the dual perspective of technology and design. It will run from September 2010 to February 2013.

To ascertain research needs and trends, NANO-TEC members will prepare, analyse and document materials on methodology, establish benchmarks and perform SWOT analyses. The consortium will also organise a workshop series featuring invited experts.
