NANO-TEC Workshop 3 held in Lausanne

Entitled “SWOT Analysis of the Technology-Design Ecosystem", the Workshop was held on 30 and 31 May 2012.

The Workshop attracted over 60 participants from over a dozen countries, and ended with recommendations for the Workshop 4.

The third Workshop of the international research project NANO-TEC, coordinated by ICN Group Leader and ICREA Research Prof Dr Clivia Sotomayor-Torres, was held on 30 and 31 May 2012 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The event, organised by ICN, involved 61 participants from thirteen countries (Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, the UK and the US).

The programme featured talks on Solid-state Quantum Computing, Molecular Electronics, Nanowires, Spintronics, Graphene, MEMS and Neuromorphic Computing. On the last day, the attendees participated in a panel discussion called "Beyond CMOS: from technology to application", in which they ascertained the results of a SWOT analysis which they had previously completed.

The event closed with recommendations for the 4th Workshop, which will be held in Barcelona, on 6 and 7 November.
