ICN2 participates in the First CERCA Conference

The Conference aimed to raise awareness about the research activity at CERCA institutes. ICREA Research Professor Daniel Maspoch was among the invited speakers.

The Research Centres of Catalonia (CERCA), have been carrying out an intense scientific activity over the last few years which has made them become one of the main leaders in some disciplines and sectors at a European and international level. Their contributions are helping to create and introduce the standards and technologies of the future, as well as to contribute to the progress of the knowledge society.

The First CERCA Conference, held in April 28th in El Born CC (Barcelona), aimed to raise awareness about the research activity at CERCA institutes. It also promoted the formation of collaborative partnerships with other scientific institutions with the objective to inspire future research and new goals to beat. It was a successful event which gathered researchers, managers and other stakeholders related to multiple disciplines.

ICREA Research Professor Daniel Maspoch, Leader of the ICN2 Supramolecular NanoChemistry & Materials Group, was one of the invited speakers. He offered a talk regarding the success of a PROVAT project entitled "Micro- and Nanoencapsulated Biocides: the next generation of Disinfectants with Short + Long-2Life Antimicrobial Activity (Biocide2Life)", which was co-funded by CERCA. ICN2 also presented a poster to summarize some key figures about the Institute.
