A project participated by ICN2 is among the finalists of the UAB/PRUAB Ideas Generation Program

The Ideas Generation Program organized by UAB and Parc de Recerca UAB (PRUAB) has announced it six finalists. Among them is SensSolutions, a water real time monitoring and treatment service participated by a researcher from ICN2. The 3 winners will be announced on Friday November 28.

The 6 finalists of the 2014 Ideas Generation Program have been recently announced. The third edition of this Program is focused on supporting environmental and sustainable energy initiatives. On Friday November 28 the 3 awarded projects, selected by a panel of experts on valorisation of ideas, will be announced. The first prize consists of 2.500 €, six months of incubation at the Eureka Building of the Parc de Recerca UAB (PRUAB) and expert advise, while the second consists of 1.500€ and the third of 1.000 €.

The awards are based on the technological and economical viability of the projects, additionally to other factors such as the innovation level, the development achieved, the bussines model, the involved team the market demand and the quality of the presentation. In summary, they are aimed to support researchers in their last step towards market, guiding them during the transformation process from a research project into a commercial project.

Among the six selected projects stands SensSolutions, a sensors based platform which allows to monitor a range of quality parameters in public swimming pools water. This project is an idea developed by the group formed by Montserrat Rivera, from the UAB’s Animal Medicine and Surgery Department; Gabriel Blejman, from Matgas; Xavier Sintas, engineer at Oxolutia; and Silvia Gómez, from the ICN2.
