Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero participates in the CSIC 75 Anniversary with a talk about nanoscience applied to energy

Among the dissemination activities to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of CSIC, Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero, Group Leader at ICN2, offered a talk entitled “From nanometers to terawatts. Nanoscience role in the energetic switch”. The sustainable future of the planet and our energy consumption relies on a scientific disruption that has already started.

CSIC is celebrating its 75th Anniversary with a long list of events and dissemination activities. Some of the most outstanding CSIC researchers are offering a series of talks to share opinions and scientific advances with the general public. CSIC Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero, Group Leader at the ICN2 Novel Energy-Oriented Materials Group, offered on March 23rd a talk entitled “De los nanómetros a los teravatios. La nanociencia en el cambio energético” (From nanometers to terawatts. Nanoscience role in the energetic switch). The talk was presented by Dr. Lluis Calvo, Director of the CSIC Delegation in Catalonia.

During his talk, Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero underlined that nanoscience will have a key role in the necessary evolution in the way we consume energy. New ways to store, generate and increase the efficiency of energy are being developed and applied. He claimed that a scientific disruption is necessary in order to allow the so needed progressive social change. The speaker is already working on it through the research developed by the ICN2 Group he leads and his activity as a communicator.
