First Scientific Meeting of BNC-b Students: JPHD2015

BNC-b Students will celebrate on May 20-21 the First Scientific Meeting organized by the Barcelona Nanotechnology Cluster – Bellaterra students. The aim of the encounter, organized and managed by the students, is to promote networking among young researchers and offer them the possibility to present their work in an academic, scientific and friendly environment.

The 1st Scientific Meeting of BNC-b Students (JPHD2015)  is aimed to present the work done by the PhD students of Barcelona Nanotechnology Cluster – Bellaterra (ICMAB, ICN2, IMB-CNM, MATGAS, UAB, ALBA), promoting networking among all of them in an academic and scientific environment. The meeting will take place on May 20-21, 2015, at the conference hall of the Facultat de Ciencies i Biociencies from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. The event is organized and managed by the students, becoming an experience that not only will reinforce their capabilities to defend their research in front of an audience but also empower them to successfully coordinate a scientific event.

The meeting represents an outstanding opportunity to share experience and research from different nanoscience areas, and also to get involved in the organization of a big event. It will foster interaction among PhD students, sharing views and opinion on research, technology transference and entrepreneurship… In other words, this is an event organised by doctoral students for the benefit of doctoral students.

Some of the main areas covered by the event will be nanomedicine and nano-biomaterials, applications of nano, nanodevices (sensors, actuators, and reliability), characterization of advanced materials, theory and simulation, nanomaterials for energy and environment…

The DEADLINE to Register and send the Abstracts is next April 27 (1 page abstract, in a word document). Participation is FREE but attenders must register. The program will be closed by May 4 and for further information, please visit JPHD2015 site.
