Prof Daniel Maspoch co-organizes the 1st Spanish Symposium on Properties and Applications of MOFs and COFs

On April 9th and 10th, the University of Granada hosted the First Symposium on Properties and Applications of Metal-organic Frameworks and Covalent-organic Frameworks, co-organized by Prof Daniel Maspoch from ICN2 and Prof Jorge A. R. Navarro from University of Granada.

The Science Faculty of the University of Granada held on 9th and 10th April the 1st Symposium on Properties and Applications of MOFs and COFs. The event was coorganized by ICREA Prof. Daniel Maspoch, Group Leader of the ICN2 Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials Group, and Prof. Jorge A. R. Navarro from University of Granada.

The aim of the encounter was to gather the different research groups working in the field of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) around the Spanish territory, in order to strengthen interactions among them and promote networking and collaborations.

The program, which included nearly 30 oral presentations and a poster session, covered a wide diversity of research topics related to MOFs and COFs, such as synthetic methods, computational modelling, use for catalysis, gas and solvent separation, and biological applications, among many others.

This first edition of the symposium was very well received. It was reflected in the number of attendees that participated in the symposium: there were nearly 60 researchers from 18 different groups. The organization committee expects that new editions will take place biannually.
