ICN2 collaborates with the Norwegian HEFACE project

HEFACE will investigate the heat transfer across metal and polymer interfaces. ICN2 will benefit from exchange visits and joint experiments, discussed today during a visit of the project coordinators to the ICN2 Group led by the ICREA Research Prof Dr Clivia Sotomayor-Torres.

The HEFACE project, funded by the Norwegian Research council, will investigate the heat transfer across metal and polymer interfaces. It will be targeting the use of conductive adhesives based on metal-coated polymer particles in electronic packaging technology, aiming for understanding and characterizing the interface thermal properties and thus enhancing the device efficiency.

The ICN2 will benefit from exchange visits and joint experiments developed within the HEFACE project. Prof Jianying He, Project Leader from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Dr Helge Kristiansen, CTO of CONPART AS, visited ICN2 recently to discuss about the project with ICREA Research Prof Dr Clivia Sotomayor-Torres, Group Leader of the ICN2 Phononic and Photonic nanostructures (P2N) group, and other ICN2 researchers committed with this collaboration, such as Dr Francesc Alzina and Dr Marianna Sledzinska.
