PHENOMEN highlighted at the EC Digital Single Market newsfeed and ICT 2018

The FET-Open project PHENOMEN will be exhibiting at ICT 2018 (Vienna, 4-6 December 2018). Watch its presentation VIDEO and learn more about this exciting project laying the foundations of a new information technology based on the manipulation of phonons and their coupling to photons and RF electronics.

PHENOMEN is a multidisciplinary project at the intersection of photonics, radio-frequency (RF) signal processing and phononics. The long-term vision of PHENOMEN is to lay the foundations of a new information technology based on the manipulation of phonons and their coupling to photons and RF electronics.

Read about it at the European Commission Digital Single Market newsfeed:

We also invite you to wacth the following video presentation to be showcased at ICT 2018 (Vienna, 4-6 December 2018):

Coordinated from the ICN2 by ICREA Prof. Clivia Sotomayor-Torres, Group Leader of the ICN2 Phononic and Photonic Nanostructures Group, it involves 3 research institutes, 3 universities and 1 industrial partner to develop a radically new technology.

PHENOMEN proposes to build the first practical optically-driven phonon sources and detectors including the engineering of phonon lasers to deliver coherent phonons to the rest of the chip pumped by continuous wave optical sources.

Come and visit the FET-Open project PHENOMEN at ICT 2018 in Vienna. You'll find us at Exhibition booth C07. There you will be able to interact with other projects like PHENOMEN, funded by the European Commission through the H2020-FETOPEN-2014/2015 call.
