Bojos per la Ciència programme 2023 opens with a ceremony attended by over 700 people
Bojos per la Física (Crazy for Physics), the course led by ICN2 and IFAE, reaches its seventh edition. The program aims to engage young people in science and promote a passion for physics. It offers 25 high school students the opportunity to have their first contact with the world of research.
The Bojos per la Ciència (Crazy for Science) programme of the Fundació La Pedrera officially opened its doors for the 2023 season with a ceremony attended by over 700 people last Friday. Bojos per la Física (Crazy for Physics), which is part of the larger Bojos per la Ciència initiative, aims to engage young people in science and promote a passion for physics. Carla Caro, a former participant of the program, served as the event's host and shared her personal experience with the audience. She was joined by other alumni of the Bojos per la Ciència program, who all emphasized the importance of the program in their personal and professional growth.
Samuel Sánchez, a senior researcher from IBEC, also spoke at the event and shared his own journey in the field of physics. The Direction of the Fundació la Pedrera closed this engaging event.
It's worth mentioning that ICN2 and IFAE lead the Bojos per la Física and also other scientific centers are involved as in previous editions, such as UAB, ICFO, Alba Synchrotron and ICMAB. Ana de la Osa and Àlex Argemí, from the ICN2 Marketing and Communication Department, were also present to welcome the new students and to give more information about the program.
This program offers students in high school the opportunity to have their first contact with the world of research. The 16 sessions of the program are celebrated on Saturdays, involving a broad representation of Groups from the involved institutions.
