Pedro Gomez Romero wins the XXI European Science Communication Award

The prize, worth 12,000 euros, recognizes the dissemination skills of the CSIC researcher and Group Leader at ICN2 Prof Pedro Gómez-Romero. "Creators of the future", the awarded work, will be published in the collection of science dissemination books Sense Fronteres, co-published by the University of Valencia and Edicions Bromera. The award was presented at the gala of the XXVII Premis Literaris Ciutat d'Alzira held Friday night November 13, 2015.

As part of the 17th Science Week of the University of Valencia, Prof Pedro Gómez-Romero was awarded the XXI European Science Communication Award Estudi General for his essay Creators of the future. The winners of the various awards announced on Friday night November 13, received a trophy designed by artist Manuel Boix during the traditional gala dinner of the Ciutat d'Alzira Literary Awards.

The event was attended by about 900 people, among which was, for the first time, the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig. On this edition of the awards a total of 113 originals were received and an overall amount of € 65,500 was distributed among the winners of different literary categories.

Creators of the future, by the CSIC researcher and ICN2 Group Leader Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero, is the work awarded the XXI European Science Communication Award Estudi General, endowed with € 12,000 by the University of Valencia. Scientific discovery and the development of new technologies offer opportunities for radical changes to society. However, it does not take a Nobel Prize to make significant contributions to our technological evolution, only possessing the tools needed to create future.

This book contains a collection of stories that invite you to discover the mechanisms of self discovery, the link between science and technology and the enormous effects of these scientific findings in society. Creators of the future will be published in the collection of science books Sense Fronteres, co-published by the University of Valencia and Edicions Bromera.
