Klaas-Jan Tielrooij is Junior Group Leader at the ICN2 since October 2018, heading the Ultrafast Dynamics in Nanoscale Systems group, and Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of Excellence Material Science in Mainz (Germany) since July 2018. Before joining the ICN2, he was a research fellow at the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), which is a member of the Barcelona Institute of Technology (BIST) as the ICN2. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) in December 2010 with a thesis that was awarded the FOM Physics Thesis Prize 2011. He was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2018, and a Ramon y Cajal Fellowship in 2019. Dr Tielrooij has more than 40 peer-­reviewed publications, 13 of which in Nature and Science and family, and over 5,000 citations. His H-index is currently 27 (9 years after Ph.D.)
