The ICN2 spin-off, represented by Dr Claudio Roscini, will design and produce the piece. This trophy, which will be presented at the awards ceremony in November, will represent innovation, one of the cluster's core values.

Futurechromes, a company born from the ICN2 Nanostructured Functional Materials Group (Nanosfun), has been selected by the Advanced Materials Cluster of Catalonia (MAV) to create the Innovation Trophy for the 2026 MAV Awards. Following an open call, three organisations were chosen to create the trophies for this year's awards. For the first time, each award category will feature a trophy designed by a different organisation. These trophies will all share a visual identity that reflects the values of the MAV Awards. The ceremony will take place on 25 November 2026.

Futurechromes, represented by CTO Dr Claudio Roscini, will design the trophy for the Innovation category, combining creativity and technical expertise. In parallel, AMES and OiKo Design Office will design the trophies for the Collaborative Project with the Greatest Impact and Sustainability categories, respectively.

The MAV Cluster, of which ICN2 is a member, is Catalonia's leading cluster for advanced materials and their enabling technologies. Through initiatives such as the MAV Awards, the cluster promotes collaboration between companies, research centres, universities, and other organisations across the innovation ecosystem, thereby fostering knowledge transfer and technological development.

Over the coming months, the Futurechromes team (Aleix Carrascull and Sergi Lou), in collaboration with ICN2 (Nanosfun group member Marina Valls) will design and produce the trophy. The MAV Cluster will document the process, highlighting the role of design and advanced manufacturing in bringing these awards to life.
