BIO: Carlos Abellán is a cofounder and CEO of Quside. He graduated as a telecommunications engineer by the UPC (Barcelona) and then carried out his doctoral studies at ICFO, under the supervision of Prof. Valerio Pruneri and Prof. Morgan W. Mitchell. He focused on the development of quantum technologies for secure communications and supercomputation. He is coinventor of over 10 patent families as well as coauthor of over 20 papers in scientific journals. Carlos has founded two technology companies to date, attracting early-stage private investment internationally. He has also received a variety of awards, including the MIT Innovators Under 35 Europe 2018, the Pioneer award by the Catalan government and was recently listed by UNESCO as one of the Quantum 100 list published during International Year of Quantum.
