The ICN2 doctoral researcher was honoured at the E-MRS Spring Meeting 2026 in recognition of the excellence of her work in materials science.
Helena Rabelo Freitas, a PhD student in the ICN2 Advanced Electron Nanoscopy Group, led by ICREA Prof. Jordi Arbiol, has won one of the E-MRS Young Researcher Awards 2026. She received the award during the E-MRS Spring Meeting 2026, one of the world's leading conferences in materials science.
The E-MRS Young Researcher Award recognises the academic achievements and promising careers of early-stage researchers. It highlights contributions that stand out for their quality and potential to have a significant impact on the future of the field. In this context, she was recognised for the scientific excellence of her contribution “A transmission electron microscopy study of Zn₃P₂ thin films for green energy applications”, presented at the conference.
We at ICN2 would like to congratulate Helena Rabelo on this well-deserved recognition. This achievement is yet another example of the exceptional talent and commitment of our young researchers.
