The Barcelona Nanotechnology Cluster – Bellaterra celebrates the 3rd PhD Students Scientific Meeting

The event was aimed to present the work performed by the PhD students of the institutions forming the cluster. Civan Avci from the ICN2 Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials Group, was awarded with the Best Talk Prize.

The 3rd edition of the Barcelona Nanotechnology Cluster – Bellaterra PhD Students Scientific Meeting was aimed to present the work performed by the PhD students of the institutions forming the cluster: ICMAB, ICN2, IMB-CNM, UAB and ALBA Synchrotron). The event incorporated as well the framework of the UAB Research Park and other universities such as UB or UPC. It was also open to master and undergraduate students, and the scientific community at large.

The event included oral presentations and posters, combined with different invited speakers who shared their experience working in companies and as science communicators. The participants reflected about the skills acquired during the PhD that can be useful outside the academic world. The event was a good chance to meet people who have already followed this path and who can share good advice.

During the event, held at ICMAB on 7-8 November, the ICN2 PhD Student Civan Avci was awarded with the Best Talk Prize. The awardee develops his research within the Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials Group and offered a talk entitled “Multi-Shelled MOF-INP Composites Synthesized by a Sequential Etching/Re-Growth Approach“.
