ICN2 postdoc Elena del Corro wins a BIST Mother of Science grant

Today the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) has announced the winners of its inaugural Mothers of Science supporting grants. Dr Elena del Corro of the ICN2 Advanced Electronic Materials and Devices Groups is among them.

As the first action within a larger "Women in Science" programme, the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) launched its Mothers of Science grant scheme on 11 February this year. Offering support to BIST scientists and mothers, it aims to address the sharp decline in numbers of women at senior postdoc and group leader levels.

Two months on, it has announced the winners, saying that "the winners are all exceptional scientists, with the ambition and potential to reach a leading position in research". Among them is Dr Elena del Corro of the ICN2 Advanced Electronic Materials and Devices Group led by ICREA Prof. Jose A. Garrido.
