Five Centres of Excellence “Severo Ochoa” and the two Units of Excellence “María de Maeztu” are located in the UAB Campus. This makes the UAB the Spanish Campus with the highest number of institutes with scientific excellence distinction. The main objective of this whole day Workshop is to share different organizational structures that have led these centers to achieve the Accreditation as Centres of Excellence “Severo Ochoa” and Units of Excellence “María de Maeztu”.

During this meeting relevant figures of the Spanish research and administration will discuss the political and scientific strategies applied by different public and private entities/institutions. The goal is to encourage and to stimulate the scientific community from universities and research centers to achieve the highest scientific level of excellence. The five Centres of Excellence "Severo Ochoa" and the two units of Excellence "Maria de Maeztu" in UAB Campus will participate to discuss strategies for achieving the highest scientific level.

Prof Pablo Ordejón is among the event Speakers, as the Director of ICN2, one of the Severo Ochoa centers placed at the UAB Campus.
