An annual festival bringing the nanoworld to life
10alamenos9 is Spain's leading annual festival of nanoscience and nanotechnology, bringing together research institutions, schools and the general public in cities across the country through workshops, talks, exhibitions and interactive activities.
At the UAB Campus, ICN2 joins ICMAB, CNM and the UAB Faculty of Sciences to host visiting schools each edition. Researchers, PhD students and Master's students from all four institutions design and lead the activities, giving students a direct, hands-on experience of what nanoscience looks like in practice.
ICN2 has been part of 10alamenos9 since its early editions, contributing with activities designed by our own researchers and communication team. Over the years, the festival has grown in reach and ambition, extending its presence beyond Spain to institutions and audiences across Europe and Latin America.
Each edition is an opportunity to bring the science we carry out closer to the people it ultimately serves. From live laboratory demonstrations to creative writing contests on nanoscience, our participation reflects a conviction that science communication is not a side activity—it is part of what we do.
