Quantum science, brought into the classroom
The quantum world operates by rules that challenge intuition: superposition, entanglement, probabilities instead of certainties. Understanding these principles is not just a matter of scientific curiosity — it is the foundation of technologies that are already transforming health, communication and computing.
To mark the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (2025), ICN2 joined ICFO, ICIQ, IFAE and the Perimeter Institute (Waterloo, Canada), in collaboration with BIST, to develop a series of educational posters designed to bring quantum science into secondary school classrooms. Illustrated by Catalan artist Maria Picassó, the posters introduce key quantum principles and their real-world applications in a visual, accessible format.
The posters are available for free download in English, Catalan and Spanish from the BIST website. French and Portuguese versions are available upon request.
For secondary and high school teachers in Catalonia, a limited number of high-quality printed sets are also available. To request yours, send a short motivation letter explaining how you plan to use the resource, along with your contact details, to education@bist.eu.
