From 18 to 20 May, the latest edition of the international Pint of Science festival took place. This event brings scientific research closer to the general public in an accessible and engaging format. For three days, bars around the world became meeting points for researchers and local communities. The festival aims to foster open dialogue about science in a relaxed environment, thereby helping to promote scientific culture and knowledge.

ICN2 played an active role in the Sabadell edition of the festival, contributing to both the organisation of the event and the programme of talks. Sara Pugliese coordinated the local organisation of the event alongside other ICN2 members, including Simone Privitera, Joaquín Eduardo Medina and Jessica Cassandra. The event took place across three bars in the city, with three ICN2 researchers delivering talks on a variety of topics:

ICN2’s participation in this year’s Pint of Science Sabadell highlights our commitment to creating spaces for dialogue between research and society. We truly believe that multilingual (talks in Spanish, Catalan and English) accessibility and inclusion were among the key strengths of the initiative, making the Sabadell edition a unique event in terms of inclusivity, accessibility, and public engagement.

We are very pleased with the success of this edition and are already looking forward to the next one, continuing to bring nanoscience and nanotechnology closer to everyone.
