The ICN2 is at the Governing Board of the new Advanced Materials Cluster of Catalonia
The initiative has the support of the Catalan Government through ACCIÓ and was presented today in front of representatives of the Catalan companies and organizations that made the Cluster possible. The ICN2 is part of the Governing Board and the ICMAB is too among the Cluster members.
The Catalan Minister of Business and Labour, Felip Puig, presented today at the ACCIÓ headquarters the creation of the Advanced Materials Cluster of Catalonia. The initiative is led by 21 Catalan companies and organizations and was created with the aim of boosting the competitiveness of the sector. The event was attended by the president of the new cluster, Lluis Raurich, and the CEO of ACCIÓ, Nuria Betriu.
The presentation brought together representatives of the Catalan companies and organizations that are part of the cluster, which in whole invoice € 282 Million per annum and sum up to 2,400 workers. Among its members are the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), which is part of the Board of the cluster through Jordi Reverter, Knowledge and Technology Transference Manager, and the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC).
The new cluster is part of a network of over 30 Catalan clusters with more than 1,200 companies involved. It aims to stimulate synergies between its members and promote collaborations with other related clusters, such as the Medical Technologies and Habitat ones, among others.
