ICN2 made its mark at the recent Festa de la Ciència, a vibrant celebration of science and knowledge. Researchers from the ICN2 Phononic and Photonic Nanostructures Group showcased the LEONINE project, which focuses on the application of 2D materials in sound and humidity sensors. The project aims to foster scientific cooperation between local high schools and ICN2, empowering students to contribute to climate and health-related field investigations.

NanoEduca's annual programme, offering secondary school students an immersive introduction to nanoscience and nanotechnology, concluded on May 10 with a vibrant event at the University of Barcelona's Faculty of Biology. A morning event full of activities for high school students was held at the UAB on April 25 to make them discover the world of nanoscience and the numerous and diverse applications of nanotechnology. This was part of the 10alamenos9 Festival, held every year to inspire young students to pursue a career in nanoscience, as well as to disseminate research in this field to the general public.
