Nano2All Dialogues Where research meets people
NANO2ALL is an ambitious Coordination and Support Action project, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme. It is aimed at contributing to the establishment of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) policy and governance on nanotechnologies. The project promotes transparent co-production of knowledge, driven by the needs of the society and engaging all relevant stakeholders - via inclusive participatory approaches and activities of a dedicated Mobilisation and Mutual Learning Action.
Engage with Nano2All and speak your mind about nanoscience and nanotechnology!
The ICN2 has been part of the project by coordinating two debates around nano-enabled brain-computer interfaces. The first one, held on June 2017 at the CCCB, was a debate involving citizens. The outcomes of the citizen dialogue were used in a following national multistakeholder dialogue, held on February 2018 at the BIST headquarters.
Such debates were being held in parallel in in 6 countries: Israel, Italy, France, Poland, Spain and Sweden, each focusing on a specific nanotechnology application field. Outcomes of the multi-stakeholder dialogues were used as enriching discussion material for a broader European dialogue.
The following videos summarise the methodology used during the debates:
- Citizen Dialogues: Brain-computer interfaces
When: June 7, 2017; 10h-14h
Where: Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB)
- Stakeholders dialogue: Brain-computer interfaces
When: Monday 12 February, 2018; 10h-18h
Where: Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST)
The ICN2 and its Marketing and Communication Department want to thank all the debate participants who devoted a huge amount of time and energy to this fruitful discussion. RRI is changing the way society and science interact and this kind of discussions are needed to shape the new interactions for the better.
