New SCN2 Direction Board with ICN2 researchers as President and Vice-President

Marta Delgà, a doctoral student at the Advanced Electronic Materials and Devices group, is the new President of the Catalan Society of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (SCN2), and María Tenorio, from the Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy group, will take the charge of Vice President, with all their responsibilities. They are both very excited about future plans in the society. Elisa Rodríguez is still the Community Committee Leader as last year.

#100tífiques: Women researchers come together to promote scientific vocation in young students

As February 11, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, approaches, a few related initiatives and events are taking place. The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the Catalan Foundation for Research & Innovation (FCRI) are organizing the 4rth edition of the #100tífiques programme. This year’s edition opened up with a Networking Meet-up, held at the Paranimf of the University of Barcelona on February 4.

Celebrating 40 years of STM and 35 of AFM at the UAB

This meeting commemorates the beginning of the Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), the Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), and its pioneers in Catalonia. Within the framework of Science Week, this event celebrated 40 years since the inventions of the STM and the 35 years of the AFM. The event took place on Tuesday, 16 November, at the UAB Science Faculty and was co-organized by the Barcelona Nanocluster (ICN2, ICMAB, and IMB-CNM) and the UAB Science Faculty.
