ICN2 co-organizes a new edition of the TNT Conferences on nanotechnology

On 7-11 September, the 16th edition of Trends in Nanotechnology International Conference will take place in Toulouse, France to discuss the state-of-the-art about the field. ICN2 co-organizes the one-day Symposium about Graphene and 2D materials with the presence of five international keynote speakers.

The 16th edition of Trends in Nanotechnology International Conference (TNT2015) will take place on 7-11 September 2015 in Toulouse, France. As the previous ones, this new series of conferences aims to present a broad range of current research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. The event seeks to be effective in transmitting information and establishing contacts among workers in this field. There, topics such as topological insulators, nanomaterials for energy or atoms and molecular computing will be discussed by international speakers.

ICN2 co-organizes the one-day Symposium about Graphene and 2D materials that will take place on the second day of the event, Tuesday 8th September. The Graphene Day entails a plenary session during the morning with five international keynote speakers and the afternoon session will be divided in two tracks, one about the science of graphene and the other about graphene driven applications.

Researchers from the ICN2 usually participate in this series of conference. Moreover, it is not the first time ICN2 is part of the TNT organization committee. In 2014, the Institute organized a half day event to celebrate its accreditation as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence. The Session was entitled Nanodevices for Societal Challenges and four ICN2 Group Leaders and four Keynote speakers gave their point of view on each research area of the Severo Ochoa Program.

ICN2 is deeply involved in the research in graphene. Our Institute is one of the drivers of the Graphene Flagship which has the task of bringing together academic and industrial researchers to take graphene from the academic laboratories into European society. ICREA Prof and ICN2 Group Leader Stephan Roche is among the coordinators of the Workpackage in Spintronics and one of the organizers of TNT. Prof Jose Antonio Garrido, who will begin working at the ICN2 in September, is member of the Flagship Scientific Advisory Committee.

So that, in a moment when ICN2 is taking giant steps forward in the race of Graphene and 2D materials research, participating in an event like the Trends in Nanotechnology International Conference is a great opportunity for researchers to network and share experiences.
