Applied Nanoparticles receives an Horizonte Pyme 2015 grant with the support from the UAB Research Park
Five companies from the UAB Research Park network have been selected and will receive funding for their projects with a total of 272,245 euros. Applied Nanoparticles was gestated from the research led by the ICREA Research Prof. Victor Puntes, Group Leader of the ICN2 Inorganic Nanoparticles Group. The objective of this grant is to fund a business feasibility study.
The Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, through the Horizonte Pyme 2015 call, has granted 126 innovative projects with a budget of more than eight and a half million euros. Among these projects, five companies of the network of UAB Research Park have been selected and will receive funding for their projects with a total amount of 272,245 euros.
One of the selected companies is Applied Nanoparticles, with its initiative to improve the production of biogas through iron nanoparticles. This spin-off company was gestated from the research led by the ICREA Research Prof. Victor Puntes, Group Leader of the ICN2 Inorganic Nanoparticles Group.
The objective of this economic support is to fund a feasibility study (both technical and commercial) for those innovative SMEs that, despite being rated as recognized excellence projects in Phase I of the SME instrument of Horizon 2020, were not funded by it.
