ICN2 will be at the 2016 Mobile World Congress Graphene Pavilion
It's going to be another exciting year for graphene and what better way to start than with a material showcase at the Mobile World Congress. The Graphene Flagship has been invited to present the inaugural Graphene Pavilion at the 2016 Mobile World Congress (MWC). Leading companies and research centers, such as ICFO and ICN2, will present prototypes and surprising applications.
The Graphene Flagship, the European graphene initiative designed to propel graphene forward from the academic laboratory and into European industry and society, will be at the heart of the 2016 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Graphene Pavilion (22-25 February, 2016, Barcelona). It will contain industry and academic co-exhibitors all of whom have a shared goal to showcase the latest achievements in graphene research and development for the mobile ecosystem.
The MWC Graphene Pavilion, curated by Prof. Frank Koppens (from ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences) as Scientific Chair and organised in collaboration with the Graphene Flagship and GSMA, will showcase the best in graphene innovation. The ICREA Prof Jose Antonio Garrido, Leader of the ICN2 Advanced Electronic Materials and Devices Group, is working together with groups from IDIBAPS and CNM in implantable graphene-based sensors to read activity from the brain. The ICREA Prof Arben Merkoçi is also developing sensors and applications that might arise the interest of the mobile technology industry. Learn more about them at the MWC Graphene Pavilion!
Graphene will also be prominently featured within the conference program with the Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov giving a keynote presentation at the start of a six talk session dedicated entirely to graphene and its applications. We strongly encourage you to visit the Graphene Pavilion during the MWC!
