ICN2 hosts one coffee meeting organised by FCRi

Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRi) organised, together with ICN2 and sponsored by Ibercaja, a visit to the ICN2 facilities. The visit included a guided tour and interaction with scientists who presented samples of technology.

Senior R&D representatives of 12 major companies visited ICN2 on March 30. The visit was organised by Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRi) as part of their Café per a la Recerca (Research coffe) program which aims to facilitate interaction between companies and research centres.

The visit started in the seminar room, where the Director of ICN2, Prof Pablo Ordejón, welcomed the attendees and the organisers (FCRi and Ibercaja). The back half of the room was set-up with ICN2 promotional material including samples of commercialised technology. The visit ended with a quick tour of the building to get a taste of the facilities.

The event was coordinated from ICN2 by the Strategic Development Department with the support of the Marketing and Communication Department. The Groups involved in the visit were Nanostructured Materials for Photovoltaic Energy Group (led by Dr Mónica Lira), Nanostructured Functional Materials Group (led by Prof Daniel Ruiz), Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group (led by ICREA Prof Arben Merkoçi) and the Nanoimprint Lithography Platform (led by Nikos Kehagias).
