More than 300 researchers, 150 businesspeople and 60 entrepreneurs met during the first Innovation Week organised by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and held on campus. Various ICN2 researchers, spin-off companies, as well as our Business & Innovation Department took part in this lively event.

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) held its first Innovation Week from 16 to 20 October with the aim of connecting its innovative and technological ecosystem with the territory. The event, which brought together more than 500 professionals including researchers, businesspeople and entrepreneurs, demonstrated the University's commitment to innovation and collaboration with the industry.

During the five days of activities organised at various locations on the UAB campus, over 250 meetings took place between different institutional, business and academic actors with the aim of establishing synergies and exploring ways of collaboration. The programme also included round tables and conferences to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology with a social and economic return for society.

The ICN2 took part in the Innovation Fair, held on Tuesday, with a booth managed by Claudia Nieva, from the Business & Innovation Area, and the participation of three ICN2 spin-offs –FUTURECHROMES, DISTINKT, and INBRAIN Neuroelectronics—, a company of which our institute is partner (SIMUNE), as well as various researchers of the Nanostructured Functional Materials Group and of the Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials Group. The highlight of the day was the matchmaking and project co-creation session, which brought together more than 25 start-ups and 90 R&D groups with 74 companies and organisations in the Catalan area to work together on different innovation challenges.
