Based on nanotechnology developed by the Nanostructured Functional Materials Group, Tirecat Health S.L. plans to fight fatal chronic diseases with its novel materials, bioinspired membranes that have demonstrated great preclinical results in multiple indications. The company can fine-tune its proprietary technology to tackle a wide pool of potential indications, from completely changing the material composition to obtaining different core properties, adding small molecules, and even changing its mechanical properties. Now, the company is moving towards the clinical stage to demonstrate safety and preliminary efficacy in the first intended indication.

Thanks to Tirecat’s ability to modify the polymer, the company can target different pathologies, adapting the material to suit disease-specific pathways to increase the effectiveness of the material as a therapy.
