By Prof. Mar Reguant, PhD in Economy, ICREA Research Professor at the Institute for Economic Analysis (IAE-CSIC) and Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics

Abstract: The speaker will explain her research journey in the field of energy economics and climate policy while discussing the many anecdotes and encounters that make her journey a gender-specific one.

CV: Prof. Mar Reguant is a researcher at Institute for Economic Analysis (IAE) and a part-time professor at Northwestern University. She is specialized on energy economics and industrial organization, with a focus on the energy transition. Among others, Mar obtained her PhD at MIT and she has worked at Stanford Graduate School of Business and Toulouse School of Economics.

Professor Reguant has received several prestigious grants and awards for her work on energy markets, including a Sloan Research Fellowship (2016), the Sabadell Prize for Economic Research (2017), the EAERE Award for Researchers in Environmental Economics under the Age of Forty (2019) and the Presidential Early Career Award in Science and Engineering (PECASE) Award (2019). In 2020 she was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant to work on "Understanding the Energy Transition with a Machine Learning Toolbox", and she was appointed to the French government's Commission of Experts on the Great Economic Challenges, where she was co-leader of the team focused on climate change.
