This initiative, promoted by BIST, offers grants and a coaching programme for researchers of BIST centres who are mothers working to achieve leadership positions in their scientific careers.
BIST has opened the second edition of the programme To the Mothers of Science. This initiative offers 10 grants of 400 € per month, lasting one year, to female researchers working in (or with some connection to) any of the seven BIST centres. Together with this aid, a coaching programme is offered to all the grantees and the finalists.
A committee composed by specialists external to BIST will be in charge of the selection process. They will consider the scientific excellence and the motivation of the researchers to achieve leadership positions. The programme is open to PhD students, postdocs, research associates and similar positions, as long as the candidate is a mother.
The training on communication and coaching have been extended, as they were some of the most appreciated topics in the previous edition.
