Prof. Laura Lechuga, Group Leader of the ICN2 Nanobiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group, leads the European project CoNVaT for rapid diagnostics and monitoring of the virus.

Twelve projects of the Catalan knowledge system against the coronavirus disease are led by women. These are researchers from various fields of science and technology, such as biomedicine, nanotechnology or mathematics. Among them, Prof. Laura Lechuga, Group Leader of the ICN2 Nanobiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group, leads the European project CoNVaT for rapid diagnostics and monitoring of the virus.

Núria Montserrat (IBEC), who studies a drug to block the effects of the virus, Juana Díez (UPF), who works in the development of antivirals, or Mira Petrovic (ICRA), who follows the epidemic situation analysing waste water, are some of the women involved in the fight against COVID19 with their research. Check all the projects in the press release by the Catalan government (in Catalan).
