It aims to connect researchers, funders and stakeholders in order to make the best use of graphene and related materials in fields such as virology and biosensing. ICN2 Business Developer Dr Cinzia Spinato and ICREA Prof. and Group Leader Arben Merkoçi are part of the Working Group.
In this context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Graphene Flagship Management Panel thinks that it is vital to use all the collective and accumulated knowledge of graphene and related materials to tackle this challenge. To this end, it has assembled a targeted and multidisciplinary Working Group, including companies and researchers from across the consortium.
The Working Group aims to connect researchers working in these issues, propose relevant topics for future funding calls, and initiate discussions with funders and stakeholders, with the goal of making the best use of graphene and related materials in fields such as virology, biosensing and many others.
The Leader of the Working Group is Prof. Alberto Bianco, Deputy Leader of the "Health and Environment" Work Package. Amongst its members is Dr Cinzia Spinato, Graphene Flagship Business Developer at the ICN2. Also, Prof. Francesco Stellacci from EPFL and ICREA Prof. Arben Merkoçi, Group Leader of the ICN2 Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group, are the two Experts on the Chemistry of Viruses and Biochemical Sensing that are part of the group.
