The ICN2 participates in the IEEE-NANO online conference

by Francisco Paños

ICREA Prof. Jordi Arbiol, ICREA Prof. Dr Clivia M. Sotomayor-Torres and Postdoctoral researcher Juliana Jaramillo are among the speakers of the event. Dr Juliana Jaramillo is one of the youngest plenary speakers in the whole conference series so far.

The 2020 IEEE 20th International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE-NANO) will be held virtually from Wednesday 29 July to Friday 31 July. Originally planned to take place in Montreal, the pandemic has forced the organisers to transform this event into online format, postponing the physical conference in Montreal to 2021.

The ICN2 virtual presence in this event will be guaranteed with the participation of three speakers. ICREA Prof. Jordi Arbiol, Group Leader of the Advanced Electron Nanoscopy Group, will conduct an Oral Session on nanomaterials on Wednesday afternoon. The talk is entitled Nanowire Networks at Atomic Scale: From Growth Mechanisms to Local Properties.

Moreover, the following Thursday morning a Plenary Session will be delivered by postdoctoral researcher Juliana Jaramillo and ICREA Prof. Dr Clivia M. Sotomayor-Torres, Group Leader of the Phononic and Photonic Nanostructures Group. Special mention should be made of Dr Juliana Jaramillo, who will be one of the youngest plenary speakers in the whole conference series so far. The talk is entitled Phonons and Photons in Thermo-Functional Materials for Passive Cooling and is based on the paper published in Small discussing a self‐assembled 2D material for radiative cooling.
