Dr Ekaterina Khestanova will join ICFO and ICN2 through the FBA Fellows Programme
BIST has recruited three researchers through the FBA Fellows Programme, one of them joining a multidisciplinary research project at the ICFO and the ICN2. Her research will be focused on the studies of the optical properties of superconductors.
The Bosch Aymerich Foundation (FBA) a non-profit organization developing activities related to culture and science in Catalonia, provides each year 25 scholarships for students at many levels, including postdoctoral researchers. The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) each selected three fellows to conduct research over the next years. One of the candidates selected is Dr Ekaterina Khestanova, who will work at two of the BIST’s centres: ICFO and ICN2.
She will be joining us in October 2021, coming from the Department of Physics and Engineering of ITMO University (Saint Petersburg, Russia). The research project that she will develop at the two centres will focus on the studies of the optical properties of superconductors in the THz range, a field that has important applications in communication and energy.
