A new LeaderSHE talk by Michelin-starred chef Carme Ruscalleda

by Oriol Roig

The LeaderSHE line of webinars continued today with a talk by multi-awarded chef Carme Ruscalleda. The next appointment is for the 15th of June with journalist Dr Mònica Terribas.

On the 26th of May, the ICN2 hosted a new webinar of the LeaderSHE series, given by chef Carme Ruscalleda, the first female chef who got three Michelin stars in Spain, for her restaurant in Sant Pol de Mar, and the woman with the highest number of Michelin stars in total, seven.

In her inspiring talk, Ruscalleda discussed her roots, which shaped her as a person and as a chef, and taught her –among other things– the value of teamwork. She explained the origins of her awarded restaurant Sant Pau, the fact that it was born originally from a family grocery shop, and how the opportunity to have a restaurant arrived. She defended her model of cuisine, which respect the natural cycles, and reflected on this being as well part of what she learned when she was young.

LeaderSHE is a new line of webinars launched by the ICN2 Equal Opportunities Committee which allows us to hear from women in leadership positions in different fields. The speakers will offer a personal view on leadership and its challenges.

The next talk of the series, by journalist and professor at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) Dr Mònica Terribas, will take place on the 15th of June at 12 am. She has been hosting several programmes in Catalan TV and radio channels, such as ‘El matí’ in Catalunya Ràdio, and is now presenting ‘Nexes’ in TV3.
