A new recognition of the outstanding career of Prof. Lechuga, who has accepted the position of Associated Editor, effective 1 June.
"I’m delighted to join the Editorial Team of one of the most reputed Journals in the area of Analytical Chemistry; it is a privilege for me to be offered this position by ACS,” commented Prof. Laura Lechuga Gómez, leader of the ICN2 NanoBiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group, when announcing her new appointment. Starting from June 1, she is Associate Editor of Analytical Chemistry, peer-reviewed research journal of the American Chemical Society dedicated to theoretical and experimental results in bioanalytical chemistry, bioengineering, chemical analysis, environmental sciences, forensics and medical sciences, and related fields.
Prof. Laura Lechuga is Full Professor of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and Group Leader at the ICN2. Her research focuses on the development of novel nanobiosensor devices based on nanoplasmonics and silicon-based photonics principles, including surface biofunctionalization, microfluidics for automatic fluid delivery and complete lab-on-a-chip integration for point-of-care devices. She has received several prizes and recognitions along her career, such as the Prize of Physics, Innovation and Technology from the Spanish Royal Society of Physics and BBVA Foundation in 2016. In 2020 Prof. Laura Lechuga received three prestigious awards: King Jaume I Prize, “Juan de la Cierva” National Research Award, Ada Byron Prize, and Burdinola Research Award.
