Prof. Laura Lechuga talks about nano-biosensors for cancer diagnostics at the 2nd Annual Congress of the CSIC Cancer-Connection Network
The Cancer-Connection Network brings together more than 500 scientists from many CSIC institutes.
The Second Annual Congress of the CSIC Cancer-Connection (Conexión-Cáncer) Network took place from 23 to 25 of January in Benidorm. Researchers from many CSIC centres met to discuss and share advances in the study of cancer and of new treatments.
Sessions dedicated to the four areas into which the network is structured were organised: genetic and biological bases of tumours, the study of metastasis, the interaction of the tumour with the surrounding microenvironment, and new diagnostics and drugs. One of the plenary talks was given by Prof. Laura Lechuga, leader of the ICN2 NanoBiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group, who discussed nanotechnology biosensors for early cancer diagnosis.
Created in September 2021, the Cancer-Connection Network brings together more than 500 CSIC scientists (from nearly 90 research groups) whose research is dedicated to a better understanding of cancer and the development of advanced diagnostic technologies and treatments. The network promotes interaction between the different centres and research teams and the development of collaborative projects to turn their research into a benchmark in oncology.
