More than 300 researchers, 150 businesspeople and 60 entrepreneurs met during the first Innovation Week organised by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and held on campus. Various ICN2 researchers, spin-off companies, as well as our Business & Innovation Department took part in this lively event.

A study published in ‘Nature Communications’ and carried out by researchers from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) unveils a photocatalyst that enhance the production of hydrogen through chemical reactions activated by light. The authors synthesised this stable photocatalyst using platinum nanoparticles deposited on titanium dioxide.

The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) hosted the second project meeting of the MaX Centre of Excellence-phase 3, which is dedicated to the development and adaptation of software for materials science simulations to a new paradigm of fast computing.
