Cooling Photonics has raised 630,000 euros of investment that will accelerate the entry into the market of its cooling technology, aimed at the energy, electrical charging, and aerospace sectors. The company has received support from ACCIÓ through the Startup Capital line, aimed at boosting the growth of emerging companies with high technological potential.

CoARA is a global coalition devoted to implementing responsible and effective research assessment practices, based on a set of 10 common principles and commitments. ICN2 is committed to devoting resources to reforming research assessment, reviewing and developing assessment criteria and tools, raising awareness of research assessment reform and providing transparent communication, guidance, and training on assessment criteria and processes. Núria Benítez, from the ICN2 Strategy Development team, will participate on Friday 20 January in the first meeting of the "Foro para la reforma de la evaluación de la investigación".

The LeaderShe seminar series launched by the ICN2 Equal Opportunities Committee continued on 20 December with the third and last talk of the 2022 series by Marina Garcés, renowned philosopher and essayist. The audience was engaged and inspired by Garcés' insights and her call to action to take up space and make diverse voices heard.

The fifth edition of the awards funds the Terafox project, led by researchers at ICFO and ICN2, and the EXPLODE-TNBC project, led by researchers at CRG and IRB Barcelona. Since 2016, the BIST Ignite Programme fosters disruptive multidisciplinary research projects among the BIST community.
