100xCiencia: Top scientists meet top journalists to discuss about “Communicating Frontier Science”
The 100xCiencia encounter will summit in La Palma (October 7-8) outstanding journalists and scientists. The event will explain the science carried out by the main centres of R&D in Spain, those accredited with the Severo Ochoa Excellence award, and will establish a debate with communicators and journalists about how to communicate and to popularize their scientific activity.
ICN2 will participate in the 100xCiencia: Communicating Frontier Science encounter, to be held in La Palma next October 7-8, 2015. As one of the 20 Severo Ochoa Centres of excellence in Spain, all of which participate in this event, Prof Pablo Ordejón, Director of ICN2, together with Alex Argemi, ICN2 Head of Marketing and Communication, will share the experience and the science developed at ICN2.
The Severo Ochoa Program recognizes the outstanding level of research and the ability to attract researchers of high quality of a selected group of centres. The levels of excellence achieved in their respective research fields should also be reflected in the quality standards of the communication and outreach actions undergone by the awarded centers. The 100xCiencia encounter will focus on the communication challenges and the frontier research developed by them.
The Program will include plenary sessions with the Severo Ochoa Centres and with the invited communicators, round table sessions with interchange of ideas on good praxis and examples of success. Learn more about it at www.100xciencia.com and join the discussion!
