Divulcat visits the ALBA synchrotron

The visit to the ALBA synchrotron was attended by the staff of the center and two of the scientists that are part of Divulcat, the physicists Prof. Ramon Pascual, honorary president of the ALBA Synchrotron, and Prof. Jordi Fraxedas, group leader at the ICN2.

On September 5 forty people visited the facilities of the ALBA synchrotron in the framework of an activity organized by Divulcat. It was the second face-to-face activity promoted by Divulcat. Such initiatives will continue to disseminate science, the main objective of the Divulcat project.

During the tour visitors were guided by Prof. Ramon Pascual, honorary president of the ALBA Synchrotron, and Jordi Marcos, member of the Magnetic Measurement Laboratory of the Accelerators Division of the Alba synchrotron. They had the opportunity to walk through one of the 30 synchrotrons in the world. To finish the visit, ISN2 Group Leader Prof. Jordi Fraxedas briefly exposed part of the research on water that he and the ICN2 Force Probe Microscopy and Surface Nanoengineering Group carry out at the facilities of the synchrotron.

Divulcat is a project devoted to scientific dissemination and promoted by the Enciclopèdia Catalana. It is maintained by scientists from the Catalan-speaking territories. It is a blog of blogs where over 50 researchers write articles with total freedom, with the periodicity and the license to use the articles that they fit better.
