Nanoscience and the ICN2 star at the CosmoCaixa European Researcher’s Night
The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide effort to boosts public awareness of the positive role of research in society. This year’s program included a series of events at CosmoCaixa, with a specific area devoted to nanoscience and nanotechnology. Many coordinated institutions, including the ICN2, made it possible.
The ICN2 participated in the 2018 European Researchers’ Night, a Europe-wide event intended to boosts public awareness of the positive role of research in society, especially among young people. Members of the ICN2 Marketing and Communication Department, together with researchers such as ICREA Prof. Victor Puntes, were involved in a part of the celebration held at CosmoCaixa (Barcelona) devoted to the nanoscale.
Many institutions from nearby Barcelona joined efforts to build an appealing program of workshops and activities designed to introduce visitors into the nanoscale and its implications in our everyday life. After wandering around the ICN2 DimensioNano traveling exhibit, funded by the ICN2 Severo Ochoa Programme, visitors interacted with researchers that explained some of the applications they are developing. Those who approached the area devoted to the nanoscale left the event with a greater awareness of the growing impact nanotechnology has in our society.
The following video captures the playful and inspiring environment surrounding the event:
